strEmployeeName=chkother[j].value.trim();为什么加上.trim()就出错呢。而strEmployeeName=chkother[j].value这样就是正确的
应该怎样用。

在前面加上这个就可以用了
String.prototype.trim = function()
{
    // 用正则表达式将前后空格
    // 用空字符串替代。
    return this.replace(/(^\s*)|(\s*$)/g, "");
}
