初学php,对这个语句大获不解?望解释

Question

$file = fopen($filename, 'r')
or exit("unable to open file ($filename)");
相当于
$file = fopen($filename, 'r');
if(!$file) exit("unable to open file ($filename)");和C里的||一样，当第一个表达式为真的时候第二个不会执行
