请教关于输入框

echo"<input type=text value=$row[1]>";上面的$row[1]="this is the first"，是从数据库中调出来的，可输入框里只显示this，
请问这是为什么，应该怎么办？

最终echo出来的应该是value="this is the first"的形式，而不是value=this is the first的形式，否则如同value=this（空格之后的没有了）。
