连接view controller和app delegate 输出口

我在...AppDelegate.h的文件声明了一个输出口，在MainStoryBoard里面有一个view controller。如何将这个输出口和这个view controller连接呢？书上写的是按住Control并将AppDelegate图标拖动到ViewController图标上，可是当我按住Control再选择AppDelegate图标的时候弹出了一个菜单栏。。求解
