checkstyle报protected错误

在eclipse中用checkstyle的时候会报protected错误，
Variable 'session' must be private and have accessor methods. protected HttpServletRequest request; protected HttpServletResponse response;我是在一个父类里面写的protected成员变量，结果报了个要用private的，这样子类里面就不方便了，想问大师们，有没有比较好的解决方法。
