What's new in Forte for Java 3.0, Community Edition EA? A lot. With contributions from netbeans.org and other modules having filtered down from the Internet Edition, there's a lot to look forward to in the next release of Community Edition. We've also added a Setup Wizard to make setting up the IDE a snap, MDI (Multiple Document Interface) as an option, and Cross-Directory Compiler functionality (formerly a separate, experimental module) has been merged into the Java module. 
Among the new modules in this release are Ant, for working with buildfiles; 
the External HTML Browser module, for using browsers other than the built in ICE Browser; 
Javacvs (built-in CVS client), for cvs client/server communication; 
the JNDI module, which provides access to naming and directory services like LDAP; 
the RMI module; 
the Corba module; 
the File Copy module; 
Two new modules for use with any version control system - VCS Core and VCS Generic; 
the JSP/Servlet* module; 
the XML* module; 
several database development modules taken from the Internet Edition: the Database Explorer, Database Schema, PointBase, Transparent Persistence* and the JDBC module.
