You can't find a free implementation of SUN JDO.BTW, while the Castor JDO is free ,but it's only a JDO-like product.
Good! find someone! Could you please give me a brief idea about how transparent PERSISTENCE works? general idea. I care about the persistence, although for JDO, we are not supposed to aware it.

the reason is quite simple and personal, I am good at DB. It doesn't look any attractive to me for not using SQL. :P about other aspects, I absolutely agree with you.
