关于<welcome-file-list>的疑问。。。菜鸟郁闷哦

我web.xml
<welcome-file-list>
   <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
今天把程序上传到虚拟空间，打开网址（比如是xxx.xx.net），进去的是虚拟空间的提示错误页面，
但是如果写xxx.xx.net/index，就能进index.jsp，最后我把
<welcome-file-list>
   <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
写在web.xml的最后,通过的xxx.xx.net就能访问了，这是为什么啊！
菜鸟很郁闷啊，为了这个事搞了一下午啊擦擦擦

表示直接输入域名（xxx.xx.net）访问的页面。

我知道啊，但是为什么xxx.xx.net/index.jsp能进去，但xxx.xx.net进不去，但把
<welcome-file-list>写web.xml的最后又可以进去啊

我主要是想问<welcome-file-list>写在开头和写在最后有什么区别？
