三张表 共用一个ID 行吗

Question

我有个 基表 ball
下面 三张表 继承 ball
football basketball Baseball
然后  三张表   的 ID 是公用的 比方说 football
一条数据 id 1
basketball Baseball  就从 id 2 开始  
这样 行不行？

select (select max(id)+1 from (select id from football union all select id from Baseball union all select id from Baseball) a),......

他说  hibernate   有这样的 用法
  外面一个对象 关联到 ball
他会自己   找出是下面那种球的 ？
有这么好的 功能 ？
