1) Ensure that your server has all of the language and "database cache" files that the MSSearch engine uses. Specifically, wdbase.* or wbcache.* can be found in the c:\winnt\system32 directory. There should be eight (8) of these files, each with different language specific extensions, i.e. wdbase.enu for US_English. If not,
copy them over from your Win2K Server CD.2) I've also seen this error when multiple languages are stored in one column and then Full-Text Index. Also, ensure that the language of the server (see Regional settings) matches the default language of SQL Server (confirm via "SELECT @@language"). Note, I've not been able to get a repo as I believe a certain number of rows of either language is a requirement...If you do have multiple languages, consider either (1) dropping the FT Catalog and re-creating it using the "Neutral" Language for Word Breaker and run a Full Population, (2) separate the languages into language specific columns and then use the language specific for the word breaker and run Full Populations...
