mysql安装使用求助

最近想玩玩mysql，sudo apt-get install mysql-server后，安装也成功了，但是登录mysql后，执行show databases貌似无法执行显示如下：

不是说，mysql有两个默认的数据库，mysql和test吗？但是，我执行show databases后，根本没显示那些数据库，总是显示这样的一个箭头    -> ，也没提示要输入什么东西，每次按回车就增加一个    -> ，在箭头    -> 后面随便输入字符(不是合法指令),也没提示非法指令错误，请问，这个是什么问题啊，我是新安装的mysql，刚接触，不懂用，希望大家帮帮忙指点一下，谢谢了

mysql> show databases;
;做结束符

mysql 命令以分号为结束符

加上分号。另外建议下载一个MYSQL的官方手册。

恩 mysql>下命令以;结尾
   bin目录下不以;结尾。
