MS Visual Studio 2008是.NET技术吗？

I am using MS VStudio 2008 downloading from MS's website, but I can't see VS.NET. Why?I bought books of .NET, but I using VS 2008, something different.

    The book of studying of ASP.NET I bought published by HOUSE OF ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY writen by ShenYong and Li Yonggan,which show the integration environment is different from MS VS WEB DEVELOPER 2005 free offered by MS,so this is a problem,too, not convenient to a new learner or tyro.
