数据集打开的问题

各位高手，请教个问题
本人在使用ADODataSet，DataSource,DBGrid 做一个程序时发现，
在ADODataSet.open 出错(delphi6+win2000)，
提示：project:project1.exe raised exception class EVariantError with message
 'Invalid variant type conversion'.Process stopped.Use Step or Run to contionue.
用step可继续执行下去
但是我用delphi5+win2000则没有错误提示，请问高手是怎么回事？

是有这个问题，有时没有任何代码，也会出现这样的提示。编译好的exe文件就不会出了！
而且很难调试，出错后停在Application.Run！
